Has anyone used Home Depot Home installation in Manhattan? I am thinking about using them for some hardowood floors.

they are very expensive. you are better off hiring contractors to do the job instead.

If they will give you a solid price that has no chance of increasing, it may still be worth it. Far too many contractors are happy to give you one price and then tell you it magically doubled when they finish. I only know one person who used HD installation (albeit in Westchester) and they were very happy with the kitchen they got and HD did not charge them 1 cent more than the intitial quote (and HD financed it for them). I don't know if they do that guaranteed price deal in Manhattan though.

more concerned about the quality of the workmanship than anything else

Again, my friends in Westchester were very happy with the quality of the kitchen HD put in for them. It was a pretty small kitchen though, so they went very basic and not fancy.

anyone know how much crown molding costs to install in NYC? obviously depends on the quality of the crown and the size of the job... but any rule of thumb?
