Discussion about
I think ACRIS is great for seeing what units closed etc... but the tradeoff is that your personal information is on the site for anyone to see. I wish they could just show the less personal info like price and unit and close date etc... having your personal info like name and address and mortgage rate, type of mortgage, etc is not necessary for everyone to see in my opinion. Is there a way to hide your personal info and leave the bldg and pricing info? anyone ever try to do this?

Yes. Don't buy real estate. Or buy it through a corporation.

All a part of the public record. Nothing you can do about it.

Yet another thing to consider when deciding whether to commit money to real estate.

Right, public records should be public. Saves trips to the courthouse.

Funny, though, sometimes people slip up when buying in the name of an LLC. At 15CPW, a lot of buyers bought that way, but some screwed up and let their names get through on a stray document.

Florida has the best public-info laws. (See www.myfloridacounty.com for starters.) Palm Beach County once had probate docs online, but not anymore.

Public records are important, particularly if there is a contest of ownership or responsibilty of ownership.
