Has anyone else seen this place? It was very interesting. Very spacious. Lovely original details. The newly renovated kitchen and baths were too modern for my taste, but nice nonetheless. I was a bit disappointed with the white oak floors... thought they were too light for the space and looked cheap compared to the dark oak paneling in the LR. The internal staircase leading to the upper level was also a bit of an eyesore (steps and spindles also looked cheap, but wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me). Not much closet space either.
For the amount of space and detail throughout, this might be fairly priced. It's out of our range, but if it's in yours it might be worth a look :)

that's still way too much i think for this market. i'd see that renting for more like 7,500 or 8k.

Well, as I told my husband, I would be surprised if it went under 8k. We recently looked at a 2300 sq/ft classic 7 and in comparison, this duplex felt massive. The rooms are so expansive, the ceilings are so high. The space is just great. Layout is a bit awkward, but you could work with it. The new (renovations) meets old also detracts from the value, IMO. Though, I think compared to other asking prices, this one isn't too far off.
Just more general info in case anyone is interested: They're still working on the stoop. Can't paint it until warmer weather, so it too is a big eyesore. The owners aren't doing anything with the garden level right now. The garden, which I don't believe is accessible, needs work. There is one other family living in the upper portion of the TH (related to the owner, I think).

Actually, after further consideration, the lack of closet space would make this a challenge, especially if you have children (and all the good stuff that comes along w/ them ;). You could invest in nice wardrobes and storage systems, but who wants to do that with a temporary place? Hmm, maybe this will drop more than I thought. We shall see...
