Discussion about
Does anybody know if this property was sold? It was taken off of corcoran and I was wondering if it was sold, switched brokers or simply taken off the market?

Good size, but needed updating. I liked the area and the building seemed nice. I wasn't overly impressed by it though and thought the price would come down. especially since it appeared to be on the market for awhile. Thats why I was impressed if it sold. If mediocre properties like this were still selling...made me question if the market really is changing...

which unit are you referring to? The one with grotesque floor to ceiling mirrors in the Living Room and the $0.39 door handles on the closets? Or the unit that was renovated? The one that was renovated was sold and closed about a month ago for about $990K. You could check ACRIS for the exact amount. I was surprised that it moved so quickly. Its a nice little building but the bedrooms facing the airshaft get no light at all.

Yes--it would be the one with the floor to ceiling windows!

8B sold for $950K in January. I think the one you were referring to was 5A and the last asking price was $895K. It probably needs about $200K in renovations so a fair price I think is in the $700K range. Aside from my disdain for the mirrors, if I recall correctly I think the apt. had pink countertops in the Kitchen. Also if you like the area, 340 West 86 has several availabilities. However, looks are deceiving, the exterior of the building looks OK, but the interior is very drabby and I believe the entire building is just starting a 3 year overhaul.

Thanks for the suggestion...I do love the area, but 340 86th was a bit out of my price range since I'm looking for under $1million. I have found quite a few 2br at that price , but of course its give and take in that price range. 309 w.86th was good b/c it was livable while we slowly worked on reservations. I like that the bedrooms were actuallly 2 regular size rooms. I hate when it is listed as a 2br and the second room is barely bigger than a closet!
