Discussion about Tribeca House at 50 Murray Street in Tribeca
Wow! All I can say is the leasing staff at 50 Murray should really get some retraining on how to treat clients. I made a 3:30pm appointment to look at a place here. When I walked in the doorman was curt. I asked for the leasing office and his response "tell the guy at the front desk" the front desk sent me around to the leasing office for the appointment. I walked in and extended my hand to introduce myself. Instead of shaking my hand she looked at we quizzically and said "who are you you're not signing a lease?" My hand still extended she yelled, "I can’t talk to you now! Go out there and fill out this form." I grabbed the clipboard with my still extended hand and went to sit in the lobby. I had already filled out the form on my first visit and was going there for one last look before turning in my rental application. I filled out the form, again, and waited, and waited, and waited for my appointment that was supposed to be 30 minutes ago. Now here's the kicker as I'm sitting there waiting I see the leasing agent come back into the building carrying her lunch. She walked within five feet of me and said nothing. I waited another 10 minutes for my appointment and then walked out. I really have to say WTF how do run a business like this? Anyways, 10 Barclay was please to see me so BYE BYE 50 Murray! [less]

LMAO... i like the intro... got me hooked right away :)
Funny, I also had an unpleasant experience there, albeit a much shorter one. I was starting my apartment hunt and visited 50 Murray. The doorman and front desk guy were both nice enough but the leasing agent treated me like a nuisance as opposed to a potential tenant. Seems like at 50 Murray the opposite of the hard sell is not the soft sell. It's the hard get-the-f-outta-here-ya-bum! I left without even seeing a unit. Weird.
MHP, I'm looking to move, possibly to one of those buildings, in a couple of months. Can you share what you have found regarding pricing? 10 Barclays seems cool, though probably a little pricey for me.
I tried to look at 50 Murray as a walk-in, but they woudln't see me without an appointment and I have yet to make it back.
The staff and leasing people at 10 Barclay are superb and always pleasant. When we call to have something done in the apartment, they are there within minutes even though it's not an emergency, just something like a slow drain. But vecie, you shouldn't call women bitches. Can't you come up with something better? And you should learn to spell the name of your future apartment building.
I visited 50 Murray over the weekend to check out some studios, I have several friends in the building and it comes highly recommended. I didnt experience any of the above scenarios, I found the leasing agent i was with to be professional and willing to accomodate me even though I did not have an appointment. The building is fantastic and I am looking forward to moving in!
runner412 = 50 Murray leasing agent (with enough time on hands to lurk in SE)
chimpwolf, what a name!
I had same unpleasant experience last year. Walked in and told doorman I'm looking for rental agent, he told me to wait in lobby. The twit came down, looked at me, "What do you want?!" Told her looking for a 1+ br. "We have none now!", and that was it! Didn't offer to take my name, or ask me to put in application, or to call later, or anything. 10 days later, after I had already signed a lease elsewhere, the twit is listing 3 places in CL that would have suited me fine. Very unprofessional! There is a more mature leasing agent (her boss, I believe) who I hear (from friends in building) is more professional.
