Discussion about
Anyone know a good mover? Anyone have any idea what it should cost to move a 2 bedroom plus dining room within the Upper West Side?

i used flatrate movers in dec 2005 - very professional, fast and careful - and it's a flat rate known in advance no surprises. i recommended them to a bunch of my colleagues who were all equally satisfied.

I also have been happy with Oz movers. Don't know how much they will be, but they are competitively priced and professional

what's the typical range for a flat rate? I'm looking for a mover for a small 1br around 300-450sq ft.

I moved with Divine Movers a few years ago.. I am not sure if it is run by the same owner, it used to be David Cohen, if he's still there I recommend them highly http://www.divinemoving.com

Never try Revolt Mover. For a small one bed room, %1500 plus 15% tip for moving out and $1000 plus 15% tip for moving in. Not puntual at all. Not capable of communicating with these people. They even lost bed hardware and thus I had to wait a week to wait for new hardware from the furniture store. They are simply terrible cheaters. Real estate brokers and lawyers were not helpful at all. I should have checked this website before I retained those rascals.

Try Big John. Not cheap, but very clean. They also have a fine art and antique division so they know what they are doing.

Also just got some high end vintage furniture delivered by Celebrity Movers. The were expensive ($1300 for chairs and a very heavy lucite armoir) but very very professional. If you are moving things you have worked very hard to pay for do not cut corners.
