Not good.

Take a walk there at dusk. Bring 2 or 3 friends.

From the Corcoran listing: "No need for any negotiations, we've made all the price reductions just for you!!"

"We can't give you everything; at this price, you can create your own space in this fixer upper."
Everything? Hehe, yeah, like the ONLY thing this place needs is a nicer interior.

Terrible location unless you like to drive everywhere. Inconvenient to everything; no retail nearby. Vaguely unsafe, too.

Ok thanks. So how does it work around there -- is it better on the other side of Ft. Greene Park? Where are the decent parts?

I don't know Ft. Greene obviously, although I've drive around it on several occasions.

Most blocks around the park are good. DeKalb is the main artery so to speak and between it and Fulton are the best blocks. I think it's East(get turned around out there) Washington would be my boundary(some would say Vanderbilt), then going the opposite(Washington) Ashland would be a boundary. If you look on a map you will see Dekalb and Fulton run parallel to each other. Near Washington they are quite far apart, as they near Atlantic ave they almost intersect, so it's like a triangle. More or less from Washington to Ashland in between Dekalb and Fulton-Those are pretty good boundaries for "prime" FT.

If you can walk to the c train at Lafayette and S.Portland in no more than 10 minutes, you're in good shape. The A is Near Washington and Fulton, some may say this is a little dodgy, IMHO I don't think it is to bad. There is also a G train near Lafayette and Washington. If you get Past Dekalb, say close to Myrtle it can be a trek to the train. Myrtle has improved and the closer you are the less you will pay, but it still is rough around the edges. When Myrtle nears Atlantic it is all housing projects.

Parts of Fulton are nice(near the C train and Lafayette is a beautiful ave with large old trees.

GG,
South of DeKalb, North of Greene Ave (North of Lafayette is "prime"). On east/west I would agree with burkhardt.

You can go north of DeKalb and east of the park, but the transportation situation kind of sucks. In the square I described you can walk to all of the trains at atlantic center in 10min or the B,Q on DeKalb and Flatbush.

FG is a wonderful neighborhood.
