from a well known blogger: "I occasionally participate in a forum on StreetEasy, a site that I also use to list properties. It has been very useful for a number of reasons. First it has really allowed me to tap into what people are thinking about in regards to all things real estate. How they feel about brokers, the way listings are advertised, what they are willing to pay brokers and many other helpful insights. As anyone who participates in "anonymous" web based forums knows, it can be the wild west out there! For all the insight, spirited discussions-you will get those "agent provocateurs", basically it can really get down and dirty! My personal policy is to be polite and keep it all business, even if I am attacked or mocked. I don't fall for this type of stuff in the "real world", so I'm not going to get sucked into it in the "cyber world". Hey but that's just me, to each his own. But recently one thread started "innocently" enough by an agent at BHS who posted under her real name and on occasion gave out her contact information, was publicly flogged. I think the flogging continues as I write this? So what brought on this public humiliation, this "cyber flogging" if you will? Square Feet. Well to be clear it was the, let's say generous proportions assigned to a property that AR was representing that started it all. 2200 square feet=1700 square feet is the new math, this was the match that started the fire. The fuel that was so generously poured on was the agents denial that anything was wrong in the face of an obvious "mistake". I think if she would have simply looked at the facts of the case, spoke with her superiors and perhaps apologised for the error this thing could have died a lot sooner. Instead it's still burning like some strange chemical fire, with all sorts of strange colors and smells oozing from the ashes. This really touched a nerve. One thing I have learned when participating in a forum where virtually everyone is anonymous, you can get your ass kicked real bad! We have have one forum member who calls himself Dwayne_Pipe, you cross this guy and he will feed you to the monkey! Yes that monkey. I have also found that there are "people" who will really rip you a new one, but then make the most helpful articulate post, go figure. When you are reading someones post about feeding you to the monkey (lol), my mind starts to visualize this person, put a face, body to it. This is where my meditation practice comes in very handy; just let that thought pass, send it out into space in a nice bubble. Repeat as necessary." " [less]

I like "still burning like some strange chemical fire, with all sorts of strange colors and smells oozing from the ashes."
Where was this?

agent rachel rides again
So... the lesson they learned from all this is not to participate in anonymous forums?!?!?
Nothing about what the take-home message should have been, which is: Don't lie, deceive
and cheat your clients by intentionally misrepresenting your product!
You left out the best part:
"I have already ranted enough here, and I do think the "square foot" issue is an important one. I will write a follow up, a part two to this blog addressing everything I know about square feet...and a few things I did'nt, but do now!"
Presumably this is a broker? Who doesn't think the "square foot" (why the quotes? surface area is a real thing! nothing ironic or quotable about it!) issue is an important one?!?!?
And there were things that he/she found out about "square feet" through this ordeal? Please enlighten us! What did you learn in school today?
how much is there to know about sq ft? width times length times wishful thinking = square feet.

This part MADE my night:
