Begin Renting in June, or July?

I'm moving to NYC this summer. And, was wondering in anyone could suggest what month might be a better month for deals and availability. At the moment, I'm thinking of renting a place in the big property management companies. As for time, I open to coming to NYC a few weeks before June or July, so logistics don't matter as much as what month might have more openings and deals. Thanks!

I vote July. But, probably more important is you giving yourself time to shop around. TONS of deals to be had, and having flexibility is more important than anything.

You might do well by looking after June 1 and telling folks you'll include June. Folks who don't want to wait for July 1 to rent their places out might give you a deal for doing a half month or something.
