Discussion about
I have very nice, very qualified renters relocating from Denver. They're coming to NYC to view apartments on the weekend of April 25th. Why don't they just look for themselves, via nycbits or craigslist, you ask? Well, for starters they have pets - 2 cats and a small (20 lb) dog. Plus, well, they're in Denver. They'll be paying me a small fee, and they aren't looking for the bargain of the century. Just a nice place in Manhattan (UWS, UES, Midtown - but they're open) for around $2500/month. Most listings for May won't hit the mls for a while - I'm trying to get a jump on it for them. Tina (Brooklyn broker)

Since when does Manhattan have an MLS?

There's OLR, and the rebny service, and the nytimes, and craigslist, and so on. It's like a multiple-multiple list service.

Rivergate takes pets and has large conv. 2s in that price range, renovated. We've had discussions here on how awful the location is for some people, but it's not a bad option (cccharley, time for your input!!). i think it's www.manhattan-skyline.com.

Wait and see what happens to pricing in Stuy-Town. My bet says they can get close to that for a 2 bed/1 bath. They will tell you no more than two pets, but will bend the rules if hte 3 don't add up to over 80 pounds. Plus, the apts still inlcude utilities, so that should help balance out a bit higher rent.

Good luck...

Yes - we have a nice size jr 4 with 2 baths and converted it to a 2br. They take pets - they say up to 35 pounds but there are some large dogs here too. As I said I don't mind the location and you get a lot for the money. MS has some other buildings as well - murray hill manor may take pets too and they also have a nice convertible with 1.5 baths. So far we're happy here. I love my apartment. I would suggest they look for a large jr 4 if they want a doorman. They can also look at Normandy court. They had 2brs for $3500 and they take pets too on 95th and 3rd. The 2 brs are actually smaller though than my jr 4. Midtown East has some deals now too. Also, because these buildings are so large there is always a rolling inventory. I actually rented my apt in Nov for an end of Dec move in bc it needed to be renovated so it was listed early.

Archstone 101 West End has apts for rent two months out. Very pet-friendly, great building.
