P.S./I.S 51 is dedicated to meeting the needs of our diverse and rich multicultural student population. We are a community of learners where all children are encouraged to celebrate their diversity and achieve academic and social success. Teachers are encouraged to develop meaningful dialogues amongst themselves, the administration and the parents. Parents are our partners in the education of our children. Our curriculum from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade is interdisciplinary with an emphasis on literacy. Mastery of content and skills is integrated throughout the curriculum areas. Since we are all learners and subject to various learning styles, the curriculum and teaching styles of our staff are adapted to meet all modes of learning. Through the efforts of our School Leadership Team, we expect our school family to gain greater strength, understanding and fellowship while meeting our goals.
