Another round of apt searching this weekend and it makes me think about brokers. Over the last year we've met many. Some stand out as being really helpful, very honest. Others less so. This is a thread for recommendations or observations on POSITIVE experiences with brokers, in the hopes it might be helpful to others.

Kyle Rogers from Corcoran--fantastic broker looked at apts with him for over a year-- dozens and dozens of them, he never lost his patience and we found an amazing place after a long long search

I highly reccommend him

AR, ED Hardesty.. yeh I met him... he was/ is selling a Lincoln Tower unit I saw recently... a combo, but the master bath is odd w/ no venting... it's mildew heaven.... good looking fellow tho...

"sold my apartment in 3 open houses (last October) "

Nothing to do with the broker mentioned, but I always used to cringe when I heard some broker pitching for an exclusive say something along those lines ("Oh, we'll probably sell it in the firs open house"). If I'm the seller, all I can think of is "If all it takes to sell apartments is a few open houses, WTF do I need you for?"

Urbandigs, front_porch, and 30yrs, all deserve shout outs. I always appreciate your posts and thanks for your perspectives on SE. We have all learned a lot from you!

what was the purpose of your visit to that apartment, w67thstreet?

w67th, definitely easy on the eyes. not why i selected him, however, he had selling experience in a building i was selling in years ago. but i'd rather sit in a coffee shop waiting for the next appointment with him than Dolly any day.

doug heddings seems like a good guy.
it's so much easier to think of brokers who are cute-ish that to think of ones that are actually good.

i met ed hardesty at an open house in chelsea and he did stick out as someone who was very nice and professional.

jasonkyle, you know me better than that. do you think i would compromise on the quality of my broker for appearance? for shame. if not directed at my comment, apologies rendered in advance.

our posts crossed, jasonkyle. apologies rendered real time.

Working intimately with your broker clearly god bjw far.
Whoops.

Doug Heddings seems like a very upfront guy. He kept our spirits up while selling, gave reasonable advice, was always cheerful and honest. He has strong opinions about the biz - read his blog "Truegotham.com."

What does "god" have to do with it? I actually didn't use a broker to find my current place, but hey, your assumptions always seem to work out in you favor, right? Whoops.
