Matthew Bank is a fourth-generation New Yorker, president of Bank Neary, and a real estate broker whose background combines architecture, design, marketing, publishing, and entrepreneurship. A graduate of Harvard University, where he studied architecture, design, and photography, he began his career at the Museum of Modern Art before co-founding and leading HX Media.

Licensed since 2010, Matthew has advised buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants throughout New York City. His experience in architecture, design, branding, and marketing informs every aspect of his work, from pricing and negotiation to property presentation and renovation planning. Clients often seek his perspective on decisions that extend beyond the transaction itself, including neighborhood selection, property improvements, and long-term value.

Throughout his career, Matthew has also advised clients on renovation and design projects, helping them evaluate layouts, select finishes and appliances, and identify opportunities to improve both livability and market appeal. His ability to view a property through the lenses of design, branding, and buyer perception allows him to recognize opportunities that many brokers overlook.

Bank Neary has remained independent since its founding in 1988, allowing for direct owner involvement and highly personalized service. Matthew worked alongside founder Gil Neary for many years before assuming leadership of the firm and today remains directly involved in every client relationship.

Through decades of work in publishing, philanthropy, and real estate, Matthew has witnessed firsthand the evolution of neighborhoods such as Chelsea, Hell's Kitchen, and the West Village. He previously served as president of the board of the Stonewall Community Foundation and has developed a unique perspective on the people, history, and cultural forces that shape New York City.
