A new rental development in Clinton Hill has delivered 114 apartments to this hot Brooklyn market, and eligible applicants can apply for a chance to win one through a new affordable housing lottery.

The units will lease for as low as $896 for a studio, with rental rates escalating based on income guidelines. The apartments are spread between two buildings — Athena North and Athena South — and are being made available to middle-income earners thanks to a wide range of eligibility.
Eligible applicants can apply for 23 units for those earning 60% of the area median income, which ranges from $32,675 to $79,440.
Additional units will go to those earning 80% of the area median, which ranges from $44,126 to $112,700. And the remaining 31 units will be awarded to those earning 130% of the area median ($69,909 to $172,120), depending on household size.
The new apartments were part of a deal to sell and redevelop the Brooklyn Heights Library, according to the Brooklyn Eagle. Brooklyn-based Marvel Architects designed the pair of buildings which are located at 909 Atlantic Ave. (77 total units) and 1043 Fulton St. (37 units.)
Amenities include a landscaped outdoor courtyards, children’s play areas, lounges, fitness centers, and bike rooms. In-unit washer and dryers are standard, as are dishwashers.
