Best feature: Two bedrooms for under $2K is always a great feature! But this Crown Heights 2BR’s setting is great, too. It sits three flights up atop a fabulous brownstone, on a block of more fabulous brownstones. It’s very convenient to subways, and pretty close to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Grand Army Plaza as well. Not bad!

Inside, our Rental of the Week is positively full of charm. It starts with a big bay window that fills the living room with bright sunshine. (Another sunshiny bonus: a bathroom skylight!) The main bedroom is spacious, with two big windows, and the smaller bedroom could also make a fantastic home office. Prewar molding, trim, and inlaid hardwoods throughout provide even more to love.

Why it’s a deal: The median asking rent in Crown Heights is $2,500, according to StreetEasy’s Data Dashboard. That puts our Rental of the Week at around $500 per month below average for the area!

Biggest drawback: While the kitchen in this Crown Heights 2BR is windowed and bright, the appliances and finishes are a bit dated. The same goes for the bathroom, which has a stall shower that looks a bit cramped. But the charm more than makes up for it – especially at this price!
