A new housing lottery has opened at Greenpoint’s Grand McCarren offering 16 apartments to moderate- and middle-income earners with rents starting at $1,114. The apartments are available to households earning 80 and 130 percent of the area median income (see chart below).

Developed by the Meshburg Group, this new luxury building will have 61 units total, offering a mix of studios, 1-bedrooms, and 2-bedrooms. Applicants must earn between $45,086 for a single person at 80 percent AMI, up to $135,590 for a household of four at 130 percent AMI. For more income requirement details, refer to the chart below.
Located at 848 Lorimer St., this new six-story, brick facade development overlooks McCarren Park. In addition to being steps from the park, residents at the Grand McCarren will have additional access to communal garden space, roof deck with grilling facilities, a business center and a parking garage at street level. The new complex is just one block from the G train at Nassau Avenue and offers easy access to all of the shops, restaurants and nightlife Greenpoint and Williamsburg have to offer.

Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than May 14, 2019. After the deadline, applications are selected for review through a lottery process and if selected, applicants will be invited to an interview to continue the process of determining eligibility.
