In Queens, a big new Jamaica Station housing lottery is offering 667 brand-new apartments to qualified applicants, with rents starting at $663 for a studio and rising to $4,501 for a 3-bedroom.
New Yorkers who earn 40%, 60%, 80%, 125%, 130%, 145%, and 165% of the annual median income — or between $23,658 and $218,460 per year, depending on the apartment size and the number of people in the household — may qualify for the apartments. See details in the chart below.
These housing lottery units are in The Crossing at Jamaica Station, a new-construction two-building complex that is expected to receive LEED Silver certification for its energy efficiency and “green” roof. The complex is ideally suited for commuters, just steps away from the J, Z, and E trains at Sutphin Boulevard/Archer Avenue and the LIRR and AirTrains at Jamaica Station.
