Mott Haven Housing Lottery

A new housing lottery has opened in Mott Haven, offering 1-bedroom units for low-income seniors. The 83 units are available to households that qualify for Section 8 housing, and will rent for 30% of the tenants’ income. See the chart below.

Income requirements range from $0 to $42,700 annually, depending on household size. Each household must have at least one member who is 62 years of age or older to qualify. Eligible income brackets are listed in the chart below.

Mott Haven Housing Lottery Income Bands

Located at 570 E. 137th St., Mill Brook Terrace is a nine-story, 156-unit building that’s exclusively available to seniors. It will also house a senior center offering daily programs, social services and meals. Residents will have access to a second-floor garden.

Application Details

To apply online, visit NYC Housing Connect. To request a paper application, send a self-addressed envelope to: Mill Brook Terrace, L.P. c/o West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, Inc., 2345 Broadway, New York, NY, 10024. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than Aug. 20, 2019. After the deadline, applications are selected for review through a lottery process. If selected, applicants will be invited to an interview to continue the process of determining eligibility.
