A NoMad housing lottery? It’s happening at the Mason.

Imagine having a Madison Avenue address and paying $580 a month for an apartment in a new development. Well, it could happen for some lucky individuals. Here’s the deal: A new housing lottery was just announced at the Mason, a new rental building in NoMad at 145 Madison Ave., where 18 apartments are up for grabs at below-market rates.

The financial limits for these units go from 40 to 60 percent of the area median income up to 130 percent of AMI, meaning a wide range of individuals will qualify. See details below:

For comparison, a market-rate studio at the Mason was rented for $3,514, and a market rate 1-bedroom went for $5,534. For an extra fee, these amenities will be available to lottery winners: Gym, bike storage, lounge, storage lockers, second-floor patio and roof deck.

Residents of Manhattan Community Board 5 and municipal employees will be given preference. Deadline to apply is June 1, 2018.
