The transformation in Bushwick where the old Rheingold Brewery once stood is nearing completion as another new rental building gets ready for tenants, this one at 115 Stanwix St.
Forty of the building’s 130 total units will be made available through a new lottery. Here are the details:
- What: Housing lottery for 41 newly constructed units.
- Who can apply: Households earning 80 percent and 130 percent of the area median income.
- How to apply: Online or through the mail. To apply online, go to NYC Housing Connect. To apply by mail, request an application by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to IMPACCT Brooklyn, Attention: 115 Stanwix Street, 1224 Bedford Ave. Brooklyn 11216.
- Deadline: Nov. 12, 2018
For those in the 80 percent AMI category, there are 16 apartments for those who earn between $49,098 and $96,800, with rental rates ranging from $1,432 for a single person for a 1-bedroom up to $1,985 for a 3-bedroom. In the 130 percent AMI range, there are 25 apartments for those making between $74,435 to $157,300. See the chart below for all eligibility information and rental rates.
This new rental building sits across the street from another big development at 10 Montieth St., which is call the Rheingold, and near another new development building at 123 Melrose St. called Evergreen Gardens. The strip of new housing developments will eventually contain about 900 new apartments, considerably transforming this section of Bushwick.
