Renters searching on StreetEasy can now see the full monthly cost of a rental upfront: base rent plus any fixed required monthly fees, all in one number. That’s total monthly price, a new optional feature now available to housing providers on all rental listings.

For you, that means fewer surprises for renters, more informed leads, and listings that reflect what renters will actually pay each month.

What is total monthly price?

Total monthly price is a new way to display your rental listing prices on StreetEasy. Instead of showing base rent alone, it surfaces the true all-in monthly cost, including base rent plus any fixed required monthly fees you’ve already entered on your listing, such as utilities, internet, or insurance.

Optional or variable fees like pet fees or parking are not included. If you have no required monthly fees, enabling total monthly price will simply display your base rent along with the total monthly price tag.

When switched on, total monthly price replaces base rent as the primary price shown across StreetEasy: search results, listing pages, maps, emails, and saved listings. Renters see the number they can actually budget for, right from the start.

How to enable total monthly price

Here’s how to enable the feature based on how you advertise your rental listings on StreetEasy:

My listings are synced to StreetEasy through a feed or data provider

This section is for agents and housing providers who create and manage listings directly on StreetEasy.

Make sure any required monthly fees are added to your listing. Next, simply turn on the setting from the Costs & fees tab, and total monthly price will automatically appear as the primary price across StreetEasy. The setting applies listing by listing, so you can choose which properties to enable it on.

My listings are synced to StreetEasy through a feed or data provider

This section is for housing providers whose listings are automatically synced to StreetEasy through a third-party data feed or listing management platform.

Because your listings come to StreetEasy through a data feed, total monthly price works a little differently for you. Rather than enabling it listing by listing, it’s enabled at the portfolio level, applying to all the listings you syndicate to StreetEasy.

To get started, contact the StreetEasy support team. We’ll enable total monthly price across your listings at the portfolio level. Before reaching out, it’s worth confirming with your data provider or listing management platform that required fee data is already being included in your feed, since that’s what StreetEasy uses to calculate the total.

If your feed includes required monthly fees, we can have total monthly price live across your portfolio quickly. If fee data isn’t yet part of your feed, your data provider can help you add it.

I advertise through Building Showcase

This section is for housing providers and developers who market their buildings on StreetEasy through a Building Showcase contract.

Total monthly price is available as an additional listing feature for all Building Showcase rental partners, and works alongside the premium listing experience you already have.

How you enable it depends on how your listings are set up:

  • If your listings are entered manually, you can enable total monthly price directly from the Costs & fees tab in your listing management interface (the same process described in the manual-entry section).
  • If your listings come through a data feed, total monthly price is enabled at the portfolio level by our support team (the same process described in the data-sync section).
