About
This Landmarked, five story, 1875 brick building was built by contractor Marc Eidlitz, nephew of architect Leopold Eidlitz known for designing the landmarked St. George’s Church on Stuyvesant Square among other structures. This building displays a fine example of a cast-iron storefront with paneled columns supporting an architrave with cornice. Enhancing the façade and characteristic of the time of the erection, the window sills are set on corbel blocks and the lintels with cap molding.
