Complex: 42-50 Wooster Street

Two separate buildings comprise The Wooster Street Condominium at 42-50 Wooster Street. The 42 Wooster building is an 1883 cast-iron building designed by Jarvis Morgan Slade. The 50 Wooster building was originally a six-story Romanesque cast-iron structure built in 1895 and designed by the architect F. S. Baldwin.

The two buildings were renovated in the late 1990’s by Lawrence B. Bogdanow, an architect and longtime SoHo resident. Many of the famed cast-iron and loft attributes were saved through a unique partnership with the Landmarks commission that allowed for stores on the ground floor (currently a gym, hair salon, and furniture store) and new penthouse units on top of each building.
