Maarten Vandersman started as a residential real estate broker nine months before Lehman Brothers went bankrupt in September of 2008. As a result he learned in short order how to broker transactions successfully in a seller’s market, a virtually non-existent market, a buyer’s market, a balanced market and then again in a seller’s market, albeit one that is very different from before. Today Maarten combines superior up-to-the-minute data analysis of market trends including comparable sales with old fashioned personal service to ensure optimal results for his clients. He has represented buyers and sellers of cooperatives, condominiums and townhouses all over the city at a wide variety of price ranges. Maarten prides himself on personally handling all aspects of a transaction, from meeting buyers at an open house, personally answering all calls to attending the closing.
Maarten was born and raised in the Netherlands where he earned degrees in Architecture and Business from two of the continent's most prestigious universities. He is fluent in English, Dutch, French and German.
Maarten is a New York Residential Specialist® with the Real Estate Board of New York and a Certified Negotiation Expert. He lives in a 1913 West End Avenue Cooperative where he has served as President and Treasurer of the Board. In his spare time he is active in his local running club and he enjoys running marathons and cycling.
