Scaffolding is in the way of my move.

I live in a walk-up building and the stairwell ceiling height was too low to move some of my furniture in to my apartment. I paid a company to hoist the larger items from outside over the balcony through the balcony door. I am moving out by March 31st, 2012 but the scaffolding the building has put up in recent months is blocking the access to my balcony from the outside. The largest piece of furniture is custom made and does not come apart, it's solid. Do I have any rights regarding this issue? The landlord is not nice or helpful and does the bare minimum at most.
