"1. This case arises from Defendants’ grossly negligent and defective design, construction and mismanagement of a condominium building located at located at 550 Grand St, Brooklyn, New York (the “Building” or the “Condominium”).
"2. Defendants’ negligence has caused severe property damage to the Unit Owners. In three major incidents, the burst pipe in January, 2011, the partial collapse of the drainage system and lightwell in June, 2012 and the roof failure in May, 2013 severe damage was caused to the furnishings, floor coverings, equipment and other property of
the unit owners.
"3. Touted by the Sponsor as a high end “eco-friendly” luxury building, the building has been nothing short of a nightmare for its residents. In fact, severe problems, including disconnected sewage lines, missing fire-stopping and toxic mold have plagued the Unit Owners from the outset.
"4. Plaintiff has discovered that not only that the Condominium was
materially defective and not in compliance with the relevant Building Codes, but that Defendants had constructed the Building using illegal, unlicensed and unauthorized subcontractors."
