Listing broker wants finances before offer

I just put a 200K offer in on a coop, and the listing broker immediately responded with a request for my financial history (assets/liabilities/income) before presenting the offer to the seller. Is this normal? My broker thinks it's a good sign but I'm wondering if this is laying all my (financial) cards on the table too soon. First time posting - hope this is the right board. Thanks in advance for advice/suggestions - I've learned a lot from you guys!
