EPA certification and insurance

I am a first time buyer and renovator in co-op building. The management company ask for EPA firm certificates for general contractor, plumber and electrician. Is this a normal practice in co-op building? My general contractor has the insurance policy required by building. But management is asking for insurance from plumber and electrician. The plumber and electrician are hired by general contractor, do they need separate insurance other than the general contractor's? Any input on these matters are appreciated. Thank you
