I live in a market rent apartment. My lease is up at the end of the month. In February, I checked with the management company (my original landlord sold the building in November), and they said they would offer me a renewal. I hadn't gotten it at the beginning of April, so I called, and the guy told me that they were indeed offering me a renewal, but the old landlord's paperwork was a huge mess and they were still sorting it out. (They did have my name, apartment number, correct rent, and correct security in their computer system). Since then I' have heard nothing. I have left messages and I have sent an email, but have gotten no response. I don't know why and I am not sure what to do. Should I just keep going on as is and guess that they'll talk to me when they figure it out? Should I just get out? I have gathered the paperwork I I would need to rent a new place and am starting to look at stuff listed on Streeteasy, but I would really love to stay here. What should I do? [less]
