Is it always a good idea to keep the original ceilings intact. Our place has 11' ceilings, architect strongly recommends dropping it to hide electrical / ductwork etc - reducing effective height by 8". We are against it, but this means wiring the electrical thru conduit and having a less clean look overall. How does one think about this. What does the average buyer prefer - a clean look with 10'3" ceilings or exposed conduit wiring and exposed ductwork with 10'11" ceilings?
