identity theft...

So, I'm interested in purchasing a co-op or condo but have to go through the necessaries, however, my husband is the victim of identity theft. It's still under investigation but you can imagine what it has done to his credit and he's in late 70s. My credit is good though. My question is: will the board reject us because of this bad situation? Should I provide a copy of the affidavit to them as well? Thanks in advance to you all :-)
