Hello, I am looking for some advice and a few recommendations for merging two coop apartments in the ues. Our board and super are very nice and open to our merger, of course pending our updated layout, etc. I currently own apt L and am considering purchasing A. Purchased L for 620k two years ago and hoping to settle around 450k plus light Reno for A. L is about 800 sq ft and A is 450 sq ft. Take a look,at the layouts. http://imgur.com/eVyOJt2 I would certainly appreciate any referrals or recommendations you may have. Anyone have any thoughts on the best way to utilize the space between the two? We are thinking the studio becomes a master suite where foyer and kitchen become a walk-in closet. Current alcove in apt A becomes A sitting room or office and is a buffer between living area and new bedroom. What is the permit process like if we only need to retire electric, close off hallway door, add some interior walls for walkin closet, etc. Any recommendations for inexpensive architects? I have close relationships w nyc contractors to do the actual work. Any other input or advice will certainly be much appreciated. Thank you. [less]
