Renovation estimate?

I have made an offer on a 2 room, approx 550 square foot apartment on the UWS- it looks like it has not been touched since the 40's. There is no stove, (there is a gas hookup) and it has all original floors and fixtures. The walls and ceilings are peeling, and the floors need to be re-done. It has a separate bedroom but the kitchen is part of the living area. Does anyone have an idea as to how much it would take to make this a livable space? I am not opposed to doing work, but may want to do some of the optional things on a gradual basis. I am thinking the walls and ceilings have to be skimmed, floors polished, and kitchen appliances need to be put in. Any ideas would be appreciated.
