Rental and condo hybrid

I came across an apartment which had a condo unit for sale, seemed like a good location for the price, was going to rent it out then maybe eventually live in it years later if I don't end up selling it. Then I realized that the building itself is categorized as "rental building" and the rest of the units are being rented out with exception of 1 other unit which was sold as a condo... Can anyone provide some insight into what this would mean for future investment? thanks!
