Discussion about
Did anyone see the article interviewing an associate of George Soros stating the housing bubble is going to burst very quickly?
I don't need Soros to tell me. isn't it obvious?
Could you give me a time and the exact date that the bubble will burst. I want to my offer in soon thereafter.
ok so my offer i made yesterday will be blown away any minute now? give me a break
idiots
NYC housing maket will go down, then go up, then down again and then up. That's my prediction. Try to buy on the dips and sell when it's up.
can you send a link to the article?
jim rogers said it
is there a link
Yeah, Jim Rogers made that prediction and announced he's moving to China. That's the opinion of one man (and a pretty idiosyncratic man). However, unless rents tumble, interest rates surge or the bottom falls out of many key world markets (as Rogers is also predicting), in my humble opinion, this is one prediction which is not on the money or however one says that in Chinese.

Hmmm. he said the russion bubble bursts. They have bubbles to you know.
Oh wait here it is http://libertypost.org/cgi-bin/readart.cgi?ArtNum=180315
typo .... they have bubbles too ... crap ...
It was 5:30am and I was on my way to the 6am shuttle yesterday and the LIE was bumper to bumber heading into the city. (did i mention it was 5:30am?) The fact of the matter is that people are commuting from up to 2.5 hours each way into Manhattan today. This was unheard of even 10 years ago.
So, more and more people are giving up the burbs and staying in Manhattan (or Brooklyn) because they actually can work AND see their kids during the week. As expensive as it is more parents see the city as a viable option because they feel it iss better for their families. Where am I going with this? There is a reason why the biggest price increase has been in 3 and 4 bedroom apartments. And as it becomes tougher and tougher to commute in from LI, NJ and W'Chester, more families are going to choose to stay in NYC -- keeping prices up.
So yes, there can be and probably will be a dip (I have been saying this for 7 years but this time it is really true I think), but it won't last long since the island is only so big and NYC is becoming more not less desirable to live.
I caveat my thoughts by saying I just polished off a bottle of wine at Atlantic Grill and am a bit buzzed.
there is another article in the ny times. The middle of the housing market is falling as well as the low end.
Interestingly enough, Jim Rogers just listed his apt for 15mio. Shouldn't he have sold it last year if he predicted a housing crash?
soros is an hypocrit. he finds the war in irak immoral but just bought 250'000 shares of halliburton.
I bought in November, call me in the morning if the RE market crashes.
I'll buy another one or two....
