Discussion about
The new whole foods and mega rental complex on West 97th is due to open in a few months. What are people's thoughts on impact to West 90's, low 100's area. my thought - increased foot traffic - good - more delivery trucks along CPW or broadway. Increased traffic/noise - jobs for local residents - great! - over 700 rental units with studios priced from 1,800 according to curbed (... [more]

Seems a little pricey since sessanta is asking the same and is in arguably geographic better location. I'd be surprised if it fills up by year end. Influx of middle class tenants - good, they be hopefully spending their monty locally - low income project housing still around the area. Not sure how much of a factor this might be to limit the overrall success of the project. Does whole foods really improve an area? did the one on LES make any difference? [less]
> I said those were longer commutes, approaching an hour, which is perfectly within reason.
A perfectly reasonable lie...
Even the source you gave - hopstop - and even with a 3 minute allowance to switch (and wait for) the G... said you were WRONG... it was a SHORTER commute.
Try again though!
> It's these kinds of posts by you, chock full of bitterness and misplaced vitriol, that don't really
> serve any purpose.
Pot... kettle. Dude, you are the king of hypocrisy.
You started this up all over again, pulling out an old argument.... now, I'm sorry you were shown to have been a complete LIAR in that discussion, but thats not my fault.
You can call me bitter all you want, but I'm laughing all the way home...
Try again, though.
And there are few people on this board who have shown themselves to be as bitter as you....
Sorry.
> you do pump the UES and Dumbo quite often though.
Oh, I forgot... another lie!
I haven't pumped anywhere. I told you to get the hell OUT of real estate anywhere in the city quite some time ago.
I'm sorry you blew it and didn't listen to me... but, wow, don't try to throw in lies to cover up your bitterness.
"You started this up all over again, pulling out an old argument."
What? You wrote: "What was that whole thing again about people that live there?" Now there's a blatant lie!
Pointless to rehash the Greenpoint's proximity to midtown argument, but several people told you you were 100% wrong on the facts there; stop crying about it. You're from the Paul Reubens school of arguing, and never seem to tire of it.
"I haven't pumped anywhere. I told you to get the hell OUT of real estate anywhere in the city quite some time ago."
Just untrue. You're all about the UES and are quick to defend Dumbo, where you once lived. I'm not even going to touch your real estate "advice" - that's a bit laughable, no? How can you make a judgment call on anyone when you have absolutely nothing to go on? I love my home, don't worry about it.
"What? You wrote: "What was that whole thing again about people that live there?" Now there's a blatant lie!"
Dude, it wasn't on this thread... but try again!
"Pointless to rehash the Greenpoint's proximity to midtown argument, but several people told you you were 100% wrong on the facts there;"
Yes, they said it "wasn't bad", but you were STILL WRONG. It was LONGER commute than the one you said was longer.
Sorry, spin, spin baby.
You were WRONG!
I love it, the source you GAVE said you were lying, and you're still arguing!
I have been walking home to the West 90's at midnight from concerts etc at Columbia campus for years and always perfectly safe. Broadway is well-lit and somewhat peopled. Amsterdam is more peopled (with people speaking Spanish, whether that makes you feel safer or less safe.) West End is kind of dark but watched by doormen. I've never had any trouble on any of these streets. It's certainly less glossy than below 86th Street but no less friendly and safe, in my opinion. My kids also came home from Trinity school and parties etc and never had any trouble -- wait... maybe those were the hooligans you were afraid of!
" It was LONGER commute than the one you said was longer."
I don't know what you're looking at, but I got at least 12 mins longer from Fort Greene, but you can lie to feel better about it if that's your angle. Solid work.
Only if you...uh, LIE.
I put in S. Portland, and the street you named.
You LOST.
You LIED.
Sorry, AWESOME work on your part.
But you are a liar and a hypocrite.
Better luck next time!
> you can lie to feel better about it
ROTFL.......
Liar.
