Astoria has its own merits and can stand on its own.

I'm not really too familiar with Astoria. Long Island City fascinates me & the views can be nice (I'm thinking of the westernmost part) but it's been an up & comer for a long while & never quite came for some reason. Let's wish an easier route on Astoria, Queens.

"Let's wish an easier route on Astoria, Queens."

Astoria is fine the way it is....... We dont need all you snobs moving in an ruining the charcter of the neighboorhood.

Everyone seems to think people moving from Manhattan in will improve an area. HA, furthest thing from the truth.

Where were you all before? Astoria was always a short trip across the river? But now the poor little babies have having their pocketbooks hurt so they are looking for the next neighborhood to bring up to their "standards". If it wasn't good enough for you before why now? I guess you Manhattan dwellers are really like the rest of us, hard as it is for them to admit it. When it comes down to it its all about affordablilty and many of you snobs are not as rich as you think. AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

STAY ACROSS THE RIVER ASSHOLES!!!!!

Can you calm down for a minute & tell us something about Astoria? I always think history, the place where the film business started but beyond that I really know nothing about it. You sound like a lovely spokesperson for the city. Jeez!

I have owned a co-op apartment in Astoria since 1988. Astoria has gotten pretty trendy in the last couple of years, with lots of great outdoor restaurants and cafes. And of course, Astoria is home to the Noguchi Museum and Socrates Sculpture Park. Come over the bridge from Manhattan for the day and check our neighborhood out! One of the most fun and unpretentious places to enjoy the company of others is the Bohemian Beer Garden. And Astoria Park is home to the best kept secret: New York City's largest Olympic size swimming pool. Cheers
