Discussion about
There has been a listing at 80 east end avenue for a studio for $275. I called the Broker and she said it's in contract...I now see it's no longer in contract. I called her again and she said she has two people who want it and will not show it again. That was five weeks ago but it still is not in contract. CAN I DO ANYTHING TO SEE THIS APARTMENT.
beg a little more
Have a friend act as another straw buyer.
try to find out who the owner is and explain the problem
what's the broker's name and what company does she work for?
O0000, another public outing of a broker, why dont you post your name and where you work #5 so we can butt into your professional life and find out how you have been misbehaving.
the listing is on street easy. I'm just confused..why would a broker not want to show me the apartment??
Sometimes is just not worth the broker's time to spend too much effort on a 275k listing when there are bigger fish out there.
275K? There are much more expensives homes and bigger commissions even on the low end in brooklyn and queens.
#7 found it.
The slimey broker this time is Sherri Benton from Douglas Elliman.
We should name and shame this sleezeballs!
now be fair and post your name #11.
You're a coward #11
ok #11's name is Sherri Benton
A more promising way to address a situation like this would be to send a very polite email to the manager of the office, copying it to the agent(or vice versa, to the agent copyin the manager) expressing your desire to see the listing and noting the history of your communication wherein you have been turned down to see the unit. There appears to be no insidious reason why she should not show it to you, perhaps it is innocent, but you will probably be wiser after using this approach rather than randomly starting another antibroker thread on streeteasy, where (and this is not entirely unusual)the only potentially helpful comment comes from a broker (me)
Maybe the broker is not showing it so that her accomplice can buy the apartment at a discount price.
I believe it is innocent. There can be no negative reason not to want to sell the apartment. Just curious. Naming an agent is not a positive reaction and I would never do that.
#16 I appreciate your insight...that is why I posted the question. I wanted advise not to "out" a broker. That gets me nowhere.
lunatic buyer projects her bad vibes, so broker doesnt call back.
You are a looney tunes #19.
#16--I realize that your intention was not to unleash the streeteasy beast, but sadly this board has really deteriorated. Good luck in gettin to the bottom of this, and just do us one favor--after you learn what happened (and I truly believe this is an innocent example of bad timing or whatever, as I see no reason for her not to want to show it) please update this thread by exonerating her of the sleazy behavior that others are now accusin her of.
Very good advice, 16. Everybody else, CHILL !
here is the broker in question

nobody can hide from justice
That inludes justice for people who make false accusations #24.
#25 this is #24, I'm not making any false accusation, I'm just presenting the facts.
Get a grip you cranky tosser.
Facts as only you see them.... with no witnesses present.
There is only one studio for sale at 80 east end avenue for $275k.
The broker is Sherri Benton from Douglas Elliman.
Pretty obvious..,huh!
and? she misses a phone call and you try to destroy her reputation?
I think many brokers put up phony listings to lure in buyers and then suggest other apartments. I have had the same experience with an another broker.
