Nobody at the building could tell us for sure if we could get our own laundry in the apartment. In the building we looked in, there were only 3 washing machines for the entire building--that was a shocker! Any info on that? Why the no cat policy?

Does anyone on Street Easy actually live in Kingsview? Please share your thoughts on Kingsview, your neighbors and the coop board. I am a prospective buyer. Many thanks!

streetend, as far as I know, you are not allowed your own w/d in your apartment.

I don't live there, but I went to the few open houses (105 Ash 9D and 125 Ash 6D) they had last month. I asked about the personal washer and dryer units and they are not permitted (I think this is common to most coops). I did not see the laundry facilities, but I believe they are on the ground floor. There are two elevators, one for odd floors and one for even floors. Peculiar. They are snail-like.

I was a prospective buyer there too but the high maintenance was a turnoff (and dealbreaker). There is one assessment. It also didn't help reading about Forte, Toren and 60+ other condos becoming affordable housing. The few folks I passed by in the courtyard were friendly and said hello.

Thanks, veritas95. In re: the Forte and other condos becoming affordable housing. I had the same thought. My only reservation is when will that occur and also, what are the income limitations? Because answers to those questions seem to still be uncertain, and I am interested in purchasing before the year is through, I gave up on the luxury condo turned affordable housing option

Any other comments on 105 Ashland, the coop/the coop board or the owners in this coop?

Kingsview Homes is Ft. Greene's best kept secret! It is a serene a quiet complex, tucked in by the park. When I am there, I feel like I'm in suburbia, with all the action close by, at my fingertips. People are friendly and nice, always say hi to me. If you're thinking of buying there, FYI - great prices for big sunny apartments!

I don't know what all the fuss is about from disgruntled buyers or people who didn't get approved by the Board. No one lkes coop boards and the nail biting process. Why is it that my firends who were approved, purchased and live in Kingsview Homes, are happy there. They like the well kept, clean buildings, their aprtments they got at an affordable price, and no noisy neighbors, etc, etc!
In my opinion, if you're willing to get through the Board approval process, which is a given for all coops, you shouldn't be scared off by disgruntled people. They're the only ones who take time to post their negatives reviews.
