Discussion about
Anyone have any general price idea on what it should cost to paint a 950sf apartment including some built-in cabinets / doors / crown & baseboard molding? We got a few quotes from a few different guys but they are all over the place. Cost minus cost of materials.

at the risk of everybody telling me I pay contractors too much (see the crown molding thread) around $5K. For that you should get a great job, including ceilings.

I cannot recommend PROPAINTERS enough - Buzz is not done with our place yet, but so far we're thrilled with him, his honesty & pricing. I'll let ya know when he's finished if we still feel that way.

I had a classic six painted last year for $3,800....didn't include baths or kitchen but did include entrance foyer, two beds, LR and DR....ceilings were not needed.....nice work....Stavros Zipitas was the guys name....probably Google-able

Cabinetry is time consuming

That included the paint BTW....and also a maid's room I forgot about...including repainting two rooms when my wife didn't like the color once up.....very fair price I thought....

It really depends on condition of walls and prep work. It also depends on how many coats you want and how you want to do moldings.

it depends if your building requires license for the paint brush and insurance for it as well. if not, then it should cost $1,500-2,000 for medium color paint (not red) and minor spackling. if insurance is needed, double it at least.

I just moved into a new 875 sq. ft. apartment and needed a rush paint job. The painters for the rental building I moved from just happened to be doing a job on the day of my move. Not only were they able to start the next day, they did an amazing job. It came out so nice and was very happy with the work and quality. And the best part was it only cost $1600 when I had been getting phone quotes from other painters in the mid-2000s. I highly recommend. Name is Delco Contracting. Ask for Bobby. 646-523-5100

oh, and they did everything. Walls, trims, inside of closets. The whole place was done. Used two colors of Benjamin Moore paints
