Discussion about
I just saw that Corcoran has this condo listed as for sale. I used to live not far from here. There is NOTHING in the neighborhood except for the queens mall (the mall is nice, but there are no restaurants or bars and you need to cross queens blvd to get to the subway). How in the world are the prices for these condo's justified? You could buy a house in this neighborhood for less than the cost of some of the condos.

#2 I hope you were being sarcastic (I think you are). Yeah a Wendy's, Applebee's, Outback, McDonalds, While Castle; everything that makes NY wonderful. I really can't see any of those places going for much more than half what they are listed at.

Elmhurst is surrounded by the culinary capital of the world...... from jackson heights to forest hills, you have plenty of variety in restaurants, mexican, colobiam, thai, chinese, pakistani, indian, italian, greek, russian...... I can go on and on........... You use to live there? when? the 1950's? Cuz if you dont see it I dont know what you're looking for.

Shut the hell up #4, don't you know Manhattan people don't come to Queens, past Williamsburg and LIC, if you tell them what's here they may wander over and really start driving prices up. Before you know it all the good places to eat will be gone and replaced with overpriced, trendy, artsy fartsy, overrated, super expensive to build, 6 month lifespan, fly by night, bullshit themed, holes in the wall where you get so-so, marginal food at best because the owner is trying to make the rent and provide customers with a "dining experience" not a meal.

Hey man, don't you eat pizza? The only food you need in life is good pizza.

Do not forget the occasional, calzone, meetball hero, beef patty or sausage roll #7, but yes those too can all be found at a good pizzeria.

You know #1(OP) if you dont spend so much time in the singles scene in Manhattan and live in Queens instead you may actually find a girl who can still cook..hahahhaahahahaha Many girls in Queens can still cook, then you wont need a new restaurant every night.

Buy a microwave and you wont have to spend 500k extra on a Manhattan condo.

OP here. I don't live in Manhattan, I live in Queens and am married. I have never lived in manhattan and have no desire to. I did live in Elmhurst a year ago and loved the neighborhood. (My wife is a great cook btw but who wants to eat at home every night). HOWEVER, I am speaking in regards to the price of these particular condos. There are 8 condos for sale in the building, The two bedrooms are all over 500K except for one. You could buy a house with a small yard and a parkind space for that much.

I can't imagine they will have an easy time moving any of these properties. For those of you taking offense to my post have you looked to see where this building is? It really isn't near much of anything.

I agree #11, better off buying the house....... Condos in Queens are people who do not want the hassle of maintaining a home.

I can totally understand not wanting the hastles of buying a house, I just don't get why they priced these condos so high. they have 1 BR's listed at $400K. You can buy a one bedroom coop (that is closer to the subway/stores/etc.) for 150K.

It's priced high, because the price of land is high, along with construction costs, approvals, design, etc.
