Discussion about
Anyone have an opinion? Love the Slope but need to be near the 2/3 for work. Cannot deal with the F line. Also, any word on the schools zoned for Prospect Heights?
Are you kidding?
This is like comparing Carnegie Hill to East Harlem.
I moved to Prospect Heights from Park Slope and find that I it to the Slope. It's more culturally diverse, has a mellower pace, and the restaurants and bars (albeit there are fewer) are better than 90% than what's in the Slope. It's zoned for ps 9 which doesn't compare to ps 321, but is probably preferable to what north park slope is zoned for, ps 282. There is a wonderful playground on Underhill that is one of the best in the city. Plus the area just got landmark zoning.
If you are starved for Park Slope, it's right next door.
sorry about all the typos. In the first line I meant so write that I prefer Prospect Heights to the Slope.
I live in the Slope and hang out in both neighborhoods. I LOVE both of them. Prospect Heights is small and there is less on the market there than in Park Slope. Why not look at both? They are really all one big neighborhood, unless you are thinking about public school - then you need to be more specific. You can live in the Slope and be near the 2/3, Q, N/R - not just the F. Just look in the North Slope (where the streets have names instead of numbers). You can't go wrong. I have a 2-bedroom near the R train I am going to put on the market soon. (PS 321). Let me know if you want info on it. Not sure if you are renting or buying.
