As I wrote on SE, I bailed the equities market about 2.5 weeks ago. Missed out on a little but, not a lot. I am investing with the 'house' money so I'm more skiddish then in day's gone by. Still keep a pair of clean underware in the bottom desk draw (file that under: Lessons Learned circa 09/2008). My sell off was more chicken little than orical of the UES. There was once a time when I would gladly pontificate on the equities market prior to being 'schooled' in march. Gut's telling me the same as you. It's going to be a long time before anything is close to being clear enough to chart a course to happier 'money making' waters. I hate it when my compass is broken. My super's wife is caribian and she told me if I got her a live chicken and some other items from a Botanica she would give me great advice...so I did. Droped off the stuff at her house (had to go to the LES to get the live chicken) and came back a few hours later for dinner. As we were dining on jerk chicken I asked for advice and she said, and I quote..."buy low, sell high and don't be such a big schmuck". What the hell is a big schmuck? Answer...someone who asks caribbean ladies for financial advice! and yes, I enjoyed the chicken.

One more thing...about the unicorn. Now I've read enough of your posts to understand the unicorn thing and I'm good with this but, in certain circles the unicorn is...how can I say this...gay. Now, I don't have a homophobic bone in my body (maybe that was not the best analogy) but, the useage sends mixed messages to the unpracticed reader. If you have a hardon for unicorns (bad analogy again) I'm ok with that, it just has that mixed metaphor thing about it. Then again...what ever floats your boat.

Thxs Marco. Solidgold, yes clean underwear. I used to believe all the mkt is efficient blah blah blah, but the re bubble and 3/09 equity mkt has made me focus much more on income and spending than believing somehow a home/401k would guarantee NO cat food.
Reminds me I know this Chinese guy born and raised in Jamaica and living in hawaii, my jawaiian. Loves a jerk chicken with a cold corona anywhere on a carribean beach.

Lmao. No I'm as hetero as can be. And no had no idea about the gay = unicorn thing. My daughter got all these unicorns from McD this past summer as part of happy meal. And one time she asked me there really were unicorns. And I said 'if you believe it, then it's the same thing.'. Lmao. Had no idea, but I got a gay uncle. Completely and utterly gay, but he's my favorite uncle who loves to travel and has a gay hippie village in turkey he visits early. : )
