they sold 5 at 300 psft to 400 i think. That building is very far from any subway and I would not have paid over 200psft

Prices are on Curbed. SA has the prices right. Whatever anyone thinks of the value, you can't build anything in NYC for anywhere near $300 psft, so they are interesting numbers in all events.

thanks for the update, i agree they are too far from the subway, but great for the buyers, and probably seller who could have seen these sit another year.

If i want to die from cancer, i'd rather pay $10/day for a cigarette pack than $400/square foot at this location.
Did the buyers knew they would live over an oil spill or were they just investors planning to rent these to Latino's and Polish tenants?

I'm amazed how the city did authorize these to be built in the 1st place.

I read the EPA or some city authority is currently taking public comments about turning Newton Creek into a Superfund site. A designation, which is not being opposed by the city, will avert any resale activity for a while, at least until a clean-up plan emerges. The buyers all appeared to by young owner-occupiers. And the square footage figures are about 25% inflated in my estimate.

Sledgehammer has it right. There has been a long established cancer cluster in Greenpoint. I would not live there if the developer paid me the $300/sf.
