patient09 - thanks for the link - I actually have quite a few worker's advantage tenants in my Bronx buildings - they pay 1,070 for one beds that would rent for $900 to working people. So I collect an extra $2k/yr for the risk of damage to the building and the apartment, and the inevitable risk that the program drops them and I have to evict. Time will tell if I'm right.

What an understatement - it's amazing to me that so many NYers don't realize we spend more than 2x what any other state spends on Medicaid (on a per capita basis!!!) - we actually spend more than California and Texas combined (realize CA is about 2x the size of NY).
It's unbelievable to me that we provide gold standard free medical to anyone who walks in off the street (even if that street was in another state or even another country)
