Discussion about
So today i went to see 10 apts......it was a beautiful fall day.....traffic was steady but on the light side...i guess many left the city already for thanksgiving. Ive noticed that jr 1 beds are now selling in the low to mid 400's and brokers are back to saying..."This well sell fast"......which in some cases....seems true.

People need to be really careful of any co-op with sponsor apartments or in less than PRIME locations and with residents who are not wealthy.

I haven't been to an open house in 6 months. It just feels so pointless once you start doing the math.

We were planning to go to an OH in Washington Heights but decided to take a walk instead... I kind of agree with wishhouse--it's a bit pointless. Unless, of course, it's the 'perfect' place...

RECORDS? Evnyc, what kind of turntable do you have? I have a 1967 Gararrd 40 MKII, and a 1979 BIC model 980.

hehe, my ipod broke pre-marathon. Will next buy a Droid and put music there, but have found that iTunes is NOT user-friendly unless you own an iTunes device. That unfortunately means buying a copy and slapping it into a couple different formats. But I do like records and have a player.

By the way, I completely forgot the name of the store where you got your fabulous coat. What was the name again? My apologies. I can't remember anything.

Matt, you're on ignore, but I peeked. The record player is my husband's; I bought the White Lies and Yeah Yeah Yeahs today. My vynyl is limited to rare Joy Division albums, the cure, and on account of the spouse, a substantial country album.

Mimi, next SE outing should be a Holiday Fun Outing, don't you agree?

NYCMATT, Geez, I have several thousand LP's and several turntables, including a great B&O. Unfortunately, they are all still in my suburban house and not in my tiny NYC pied-a-terre turned life sentence it seems. One daughter tells me that they are now issuing LP's again (her bands and others). Don't get rid of your turntables!

NYgirl: I didn't know you were looking on the UWS. 6D is taking advantage of the market thaw - remember that 6C (facing the same direction, classic 7 needing huge reno) closed at 500k lower.

Went to see HAIR. Took a friend who was born in 1965 - in what was then the USSR! He loved it, came home, bought the current production music right from Itunes.
Just not the same! I want my original broadway cast vinyl album in its sleeve with the bright green art work. I want the turntable I sold at my yard sale when I sold the house.
And I don't want to go to open houses in NYC until it's all better again.

evnyc, I'll send u a private email. It was very nice to meet u. Too bad I am 5 thousand miles away! And so will be for a while unless I end up buying soon...The good part: I get to spend the christmas holidays in the pool drinking spritzer with ice, the national drink here...
