Considering apartment 11E in this building. Has anyone had experience with 860 Fifth Avenue? Are there standard Fifth Avenue financial requirements? Sincere thanks.

that explains a lot doesn't it? my entire family comes from manhattan; the thought that you sit here anonymously telling people who is and isn't a true new yorker is sad---my best friend who left over 20 yrs ago is and always will be a new yorker.

good luck.

But you are now so far out of NY that you are no longer a New Yorker - whatever you would like to think.

and yes, Brooklyn is part of New York - or didn't you know that.

And yes, how often do you actually come into NYC - do you ever actually meet AR in New York, or do you just usually meet up upstate?

Very New York city - columbia county?

Meet up at the next SE meetup? Doubt it - too far away from your home (cab, subway? - oh yes, suburban train - different thing)

Maybe you could crash overnight on AR's couch.

this entire exchange began with your snotty question about an expensive handbag. and from there you have constructed your own reality.

When was the last time you were in Manhattan? Months ago? At best weeks ago. Wouuld love to meet you at an SE meetup - but that won't happend unless you can crash on AR's couch.

Give it up - you are no longer a New Yorker, maybe in your heart, but no longer by any objective qualifications.

Took advice on seeing wife on 5th and 90. Funny enough first time I've actually seen the marathon. Lol. Now she wants me to do it.

Hi clt89,

Thank you for your excellent description of life on 5th. You've confirmed my fears, particularly the stiffling part:

"5th has nothing, Madison if you want a dress, park has nothing, lex has some restaurants.... I found it stiffling. Especially dealing with the wannabe board members who want to make their building more exclusive. And having a park view means your over 5th avenue, and it is noisier than you would imagine"

I don't want to live in Siberia just to have a room with a view. Unfortunately, I bet there's obnoxious Bd members in almost every bld.
