I see studios that online become 1 bdr just by adding a * to the description (* the number of bedrooms .. is not a legal conclusion..) Same thing for 1 bdr and 2 bdrs. Pretty amazing.

yes, another trick. I saw an apartment this summer listed as a 3BR* and when I arrived it was a 1BR at best, created for a bachelor & marketed to families. The broker tried to convince me that I could put a wall up and divide the enormous/gorgeous master bedroom (and share the master bathroom with my 6 yo son!), and then add a bathroom to the "sleeping loft" (basically luggage storage, with no window). I actually shouted at that broker over that deceit... and I never shout!
