Discussion about
I'm looking to buy in the Southampton, Water Mill, Bridgehampton area, and on my budget, it will probably be north of the highway. I've seen some postings on here advising buyers to avoid higher traffic streets for noise reasons (and also obviously for resale value). I know this is a rather general question, but any advice out there for streets/areas to avoid that would be considered less desirable for those reasons? It's not so easy to tell now that the Hamptons is off season. Thanks.

The worst is actually during the week in the off season, where the trucks bounce.. believe it or not some of the priciest streets are very noisy, case in point Lumber Lane in Bridgehampton.also Scuttlehole. Noyack rd is the worst, go listen now.. best of luck
p.s. what's your budget I am selling a great house at a huge reduction. see my posting on the fall board.

In general I prefer to avoid any of the double lined roads that run north south when looking at north of the highway property. People drive way to fast and cars whizzing by at 45 mph just isn't something I like. However there are many expensive homes that dot these roads.. Its all preferance.

Thanks for the comments. If anyone has specific streets to avoid, that would be helpful, but I'd obviously check them out first hand.
