building at 455 West 37th Street

I've lived here for a short while and I this building and the sister building (505w37) are OK. Nice enough front desk staff and units, but they're advertised as luxury apartments... in reality there are moderately luxurious building amenities, but some notable shortcomings for the apartments, especially since they market above $3k/month for 1 bedrooms.

-all apartments have parquet flooring, not the more luxurious wood planks.
-no washer/dryers in unit, but a limited laundry room in the building.
-don't be fooled by the photos... only a tiny handfull of apartments have the floor-to-ceiling windows featured in the pics... most have one window in the living room and a moderately sized window in the bedroom.
-no disposal in the kitchen sink
-small kitchens with limited space for your things
-white ceramic bathrooms with virtually no counter space

Overall not a bad place but just know what you're getting, weigh pros and cons, and maybe compare to other places nearby. Also take into account the sketchiness on avenues 9 and 10. There's a lot of shady characters at night on 9th between 41st and 35th because the port authority is right there. It seems fine during the day though. 10th avenue between 41st and 31st is undeveloped because of west side highway and lincoln tunnel bound cars.
